Our Land, Our Sea

A Fractal Exploration of the Scene and Unseen.

Formally trained as a Heraldic Artist, Vienna Forrester has been developing her digital fractal art techniques since 2004. A returning exhibitor to the Inspired By... Gallery, her exhibition of fractal art explores and interprets the protected landscapes of the North York Moors National Park and the Marine Conservation Zone, Runswick Bay, highlighting the importance of protecting not only the environment we can see, but also those that lie hidden beneath the waves.

Can our imagination of mysterious, sub marine worlds be closer to reality than we think? Is the unseen somehow less precious? Our Land, Our Sea features digital abstract art created as an emotional response to this remarkable world and the more familiar landscapes of the North York Moors and coast.

About Vienna Forrester

“I formally trained as an heraldic artist but I have painted ever since I could hold a brush. I am an inveterate wave and cloud watcher and out-of-the-window starer. I have always been fascinated by the natural world and the ethereal effect it can have. I have been developing my digital abstract art to capture and reflect this since 2004”.

What I Do

“I create digital algorithmic abstract art based on photograph, memory and emotional response from time and place. What I aim to portray is the memory of place as it appeared in a snapshot of time, almost like a retinal imprint that remains when the eyes are closed”.
